Children's Program
Mission Statement
To share the Gospel so that the children would know the love of Jesus and grow in the faith.
"But Jesus called the children to Him and said, `Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.’" Luke 18:16
Special Programs
Sunday School
Our Christian Education program provides a strong foundation for growth and discipleship. Kirkmont offers Sunday School for all ages, from infants through adults.
The Mountaintop: Children’s Ministry at Kirkmont
During March in Sunday School the lesson focus will be “Resurrection Faith.” The children from Kindergarten through Grade 5 will take a faith-challenging journey through the events of Holy Week. They walk beside Jesus’ followers as they experience the fear and doubt of the crucifixion, the inexpressible joy of the resurrection, and unshakable faith in the risen Savior.
The children’s mission project we’re highlighting for March is Beavercreek FISH. You can support FISH and the Mountaintop children by bringing non-perishable foods and paper goods to the box at the foot of the Mountaintop mural in the children’s wing.
Remember that our purpose statement for the children at Kirkmont’s Mountaintop includes:
· To encourage the children to experience Biblical truths and faith stories so they may know and experience God.
· To encourage them in owning their faith.
· To take the children to the Mountaintop to meet with Jesus.

Let’s head for the Mountaintop!
We provide Nursery care for our littlest ones, those under the age of three. Children through fifth grade are divided into classes based on age or grade level. Following fifth grade, the children enter the youth program.
Teams of teachers lead the children’s Sunday School classes. Bible lessons, music, computers, puppets, science, cooking, drama and crafts may all be part of the morning’s program. Sunday School meets every Sunday morning from 9:30 to 10:30.
Junior Church
To prepare our children for a meaningful worship experience as they grow older, we provide Junior Church during the 11:00 a.m. Worship Service. Children from age 4 through third grade may attend Junior Church.
The children begin by attending the adult Worship Service until they are excused for Junior Church.
Junior Church may include singing, prayer, and an offering. Then the children might enjoy videos, puppets, crafts, snacks, or a time for play. Adult and teen volunteers staff and lead Junior Church, which meets almost every Sunday of the year.
Childcare
Kirkmont provides childcare for our younger children during all Worship Services. In our Nursery we care for infants and toddlers of age three and under. During the Worship Service time, these children have plenty of opportunities for playtime. A paid attendant and parent and teen volunteers staff the Nursery.
Vacation Bible School
Kirkmont’s VBS takes place for a week each June. For that week, the children spend each morning learning lessons from the Bible, singing, creating crafts, snacking, spending time outside in recreation, and enjoying the Super Gang (who really are a super group of teens and role models). Click here to see our VBS page.
It’s fun, energy-filled, and unforgettable!
Christmas Pageant
Each year the children's Sunday School classes present a Christmas Pageant. With herds of shepherds and hosts of angels, this is a much-anticipated tradition. Following the Pageant, the cast and audience celebrate with a Birthday Part for Jesus--complete with birthday cake!
