Parents Place ...It's a brand new year, do you need information?
Effective interaction between
parents and teachers is essential to achieve the best possible pre-school experience for
children. We welcome communication at all times, and encourage parents to stop by,
to telephone, or to take advantage of additional parent/teacher conferences to raise any
concerns or suggestions about their child's education or welfare. Every January or February, we create a special
PARENT/CHILD EXPERIENTIAL EVENING for parents and children to share together. Coming
to school in the "nighttime" is a special treat for young children, and they
have the opportunity to take charge and show parents what it feels like to take direction
in crafts and activities.
Preschool Home has school contact information and
descriptions of our curriculum, policies and goals. Links and Info provides local resources for parents as
well as a listing of parenting resources available on the Internet.
We are pleased that you can visit us and hope
that you are also planning to visit the school in person, or that you have already done
so. We believe that the quality of any program depends on the quality of the
interaction between children, staff, and parents.Kirkmont Presbyterian
Pre-School is a church-owned, non-profit preschool nationally accredited by
N.A.E.Y.C. All persons of goodwill are welcome; we do not discriminate by
race, color, religion, sex, or national origin. We include non-typical children
as a part of our program; and all children age 2 1/2 to 6 are accepted, provided that they
are potty trained. (Children must meet age criteria before September 30th.)
The school is governed by a board that is
directly responsible to the stated session of Kirkmont Presbyterian Church. We are
always happy to hear suggestions and constructive criticisms concerning management and
policies. Decisions on the implementation of these policies rest solely with the
Kirkmont Pre-school Board of Directors.
Kirkmont Presbyterian Pre-School is licensed to
operate legally by the Ohio Department of Child Welfare and Human Services. This license
is posted next to the parents' information bulletin board. The laws and rules governing
child day care are available for review, by request, in the pre-school office. The
licensing record, including fire and kitchen compliance reports are also available upon
request. We are authorized to serve 12 toddlers, 90 preschool children, and 32 school age
children at any given time.

Kirkmont Pre-School uses a holistic approach in
providing a quality and creative learning experience that is developmentally appropriate.
The school is Christian in atmosphere and thoroughly professional. We believe the
preschool can complement the home and family. We offer a group experience to help
children toward discovery, realization, understanding, and competence with a good balance
of self and social consciousness.
It is our aim to help, encourage, and guide
children in personal development, and to prepare them to accept mature authority and
loving interest outside the home. We encourage children to see their peers as
persons with their own individual worth and rights, regardless of real or imagined
differences. |
